Cancellation & No-Show Policy

Last updated September 21, 2026.

Agree before the job

Families and caregivers should agree in writing on cancellation notice, late arrival, minimum hours, overtime, travel, expenses, and no-show expectations before care begins.

User-to-user payments

When payment occurs outside CheaperSitters, refund and cancellation amounts are determined by the users’ agreement and applicable law. CheaperSitters does not promise reimbursement of money transferred directly between users.

If a family cancels

Notify the caregiver as early as reasonably possible. If a cancellation fee was agreed in advance, users should follow that agreement unless applicable law requires otherwise.

If a caregiver cancels

Notify the family as early as reasonably possible. Repeated last-minute cancellations or no-shows may be considered when reviewing account conduct, especially when they create safety or reliability concerns.

Emergencies

Health, safety, weather, transportation, and family emergencies can happen. Users should communicate promptly and reasonably when circumstances outside their control affect an arrangement.

Disputes

Use Messages to preserve relevant communications and contact Support when you need help documenting or reporting a marketplace issue. CheaperSitters may review conduct under its Terms and Community Standards but does not guarantee a particular financial outcome.
