CheaperSitters is a marketplace, not an employer or guarantor of any caregiver. Families and caregivers should use the platform's safety tools and their own judgment before agreeing to care arrangements.
Real profiles and real reputation
Public caregiver profiles are created from registered caregiver accounts. Fake caregivers, fake reviews, fabricated credentials and manipulated booking history are prohibited.
Screening status is specific
A screening badge appears only when the platform records the applicable screening status as complete. Screening can reduce uncertainty, but it is never a guarantee of identity, competence, character, future conduct or suitability.
Keep early communication on-platform
Use marketplace messaging while evaluating a caregiver or family. Avoid sharing unnecessary sensitive information or moving to unusual payment methods before you are comfortable proceeding.
Verify what matters
Interview candidates, verify relevant references or credentials, clarify duties and compensation, and use additional screening appropriate to your family, location and type of care.
Report concerns
Profiles, reviews, job posts and messages include reporting tools. Reports are recorded for moderation review and may result in content removal or account restrictions.
Block unwanted interactions
Use blocking tools when you do not want to interact with a user or caregiver profile. Blocking helps control your marketplace experience but does not replace emergency services.
Background screening
Screening workflows may involve third-party providers and legal requirements that depend on the type and use of the report. CheaperSitters does not treat the mere submission of screening information as a completed screening and does not represent a screening result as a guarantee. Any formal consumer-report process is handled subject to the disclosures, authorizations, notices, dispute procedures and other requirements that apply to that process.
If something feels wrong
Stop the interaction, preserve relevant messages, use the in-app report or block tools, and contact our Support Center. If anyone is in immediate danger or you believe a crime is occurring, contact local emergency services.
