Family Marketplace Agreement

Last updated September 21, 2026.

Marketplace relationship

CheaperSitters provides technology that helps families discover, communicate with, evaluate, and connect with caregivers. Unless a feature expressly says otherwise, CheaperSitters is not the employer of a caregiver, does not direct the caregiver’s day-to-day work, and is not a party to the private care arrangement between users.

Your hiring decision

You are responsible for deciding whether a caregiver is appropriate for your household. Interview candidates, check references and credentials, discuss duties and expectations, verify information that matters to you, and use your own judgment before allowing anyone to provide care or enter your home.

Truthful job posts

Job posts and messages must accurately describe the care requested, location, schedule, compensation information, household conditions, pets, transportation expectations, and other material facts. Do not post fake jobs, deceptive rates, unlawful work, discriminatory requirements that violate applicable law, or requests that put another person at unreasonable risk.

Compensation, taxes, and employment obligations

Families and caregivers are responsible for determining the legal nature of their relationship and complying with any wage, tax, payroll, insurance, workers’ compensation, household-employment, recordkeeping, or other obligations that apply. A label used on CheaperSitters does not determine legal worker status.

Safety

Do not rely on a profile, review, badge, or screening status as a guarantee. Meet or speak before the first engagement, confirm identity, discuss emergency information, and use appropriate safeguards for children, seniors, pets, homes, transportation, medications, keys, codes, and other sensitive access.

Payments

Unless a CheaperSitters feature expressly processes a transaction, payment occurs directly between users. Do not send gift cards, cryptocurrency, wire transfers, deposits to unknown third parties, or money based on suspicious instructions.

Cancellations and disputes

Discuss cancellation, lateness, no-show, overtime, expenses, and refund expectations before work begins. See the Cancellation & No-Show Policy. CheaperSitters may help route reports or support requests but does not guarantee recovery of private payments.

Conduct

Harassment, abuse, exploitation, threats, trafficking, discrimination prohibited by law, fraud, coercion, sexual misconduct, unsafe behavior, identity misrepresentation, and attempts to bypass platform safety controls are prohibited.

Agreement

By selecting a family account and accepting this agreement, you confirm that you are at least 18, have authority to use the account, and agree to this Family Marketplace Agreement together with the Terms, Privacy Notice, Community Standards, and applicable marketplace policies.
