Caregiver Marketplace Agreement

Last updated September 21, 2026.

Marketplace relationship

CheaperSitters provides marketplace technology. Unless a feature or separate written agreement expressly states otherwise, CheaperSitters does not employ caregivers, set their schedules, supervise the manner of care, guarantee assignments, or promise any level of earnings.

Worker classification

Calling yourself a caregiver, contractor, sitter, or other marketplace user does not determine your legal worker status. Classification depends on applicable law and the real facts of each work relationship. You and the family are responsible for understanding any employment, contractor, tax, wage, insurance, licensing, or other obligations that apply.

Truthful profile

Your name, experience, skills, certifications, availability, rates, photos, screening information, and other profile content must be accurate and current. Do not claim credentials, licenses, training, insurance, background-check results, or experience that you do not actually have.

Qualifications and legal requirements

You are responsible for determining whether a particular service requires a license, registration, certification, insurance, permit, training, or government background registry in the location where the work occurs. A CheaperSitters profile does not substitute for those requirements.

Safety and conduct

Follow household instructions that are lawful and safe, protect confidential information, safeguard keys and access codes, do not bring unauthorized people into a home, and never engage in abuse, neglect, exploitation, theft, harassment, threats, trafficking, sexual misconduct, fraud, or unsafe conduct.

Children, seniors, pets, and vulnerable people

Care work can involve people or animals who depend on you. Do not accept work outside your competence. Ask questions about medical, mobility, behavioral, allergy, emergency, transportation, medication, feeding, and household needs before agreeing to perform services.

Payments and taxes

Unless a CheaperSitters feature expressly processes a payment, compensation is arranged directly between users. You are responsible for understanding and complying with tax-reporting and other financial obligations that apply to your circumstances.

Screening and verification

Submitting information to the Screening Center is not the same as completing a background check. A screening badge appears only when CheaperSitters has recorded a qualifying completed screening under its Verification Standards.

Agreement

By selecting a caregiver account and accepting this agreement, you confirm that you are at least 18 and agree to this Caregiver Marketplace Agreement together with the Terms, Privacy Notice, Community Standards, and applicable marketplace policies.
