Current marketplace model
Payments are currently arranged directly between families and caregivers. In-app checkout is not yet available. CheaperSitters does not hold funds in escrow, process refunds or payouts, or guarantee payment.
Rates
Rates shown in profiles, jobs, or applications are user-provided marketplace information. Users should confirm the final rate, minimum hours, overtime, expenses, transportation, supplies, and any other compensation terms before work begins.
Taxes and payroll
Users are responsible for determining whether tax withholding, payroll, reporting, household-employment, contractor, or other financial obligations apply to their actual arrangement.
Scam prevention
Do not pay by gift card, cryptocurrency, cash-transfer instructions from unknown third parties, overpayment-and-refund schemes, or other suspicious methods. Report suspicious payment requests through the platform.
Future payment features
If CheaperSitters introduces in-platform payment processing, the applicable fees, timing, refunds, chargebacks, payout terms, provider disclosures, and user authorizations will be presented before users rely on that feature.
