Screening

Background Screening Policy

Last updated September 21, 2026.

Current status

Sensitive screening intake is currently paused while CheaperSitters prepares a qualified provider and private document controls. No public screening badge is active. An existing intake record, if any, does not itself run a criminal, identity, driving, registry, or other background check.

No automatic badge

Caregivers should not upload identity documents through messages or support. Public badges will remain off until a qualifying provider process and evidence rules are in place.

Third-party consumer reports

If CheaperSitters later obtains consumer reports from a screening company for employment or other legally regulated purposes, the applicable disclosures, authorizations, notices, dispute rights, adverse-action procedures, provider terms, and other legal requirements must be implemented before that workflow is used.

Government registries

Some licensed or regulated care settings have separate state or government registry requirements. CheaperSitters does not represent that a marketplace profile substitutes for enrollment in any required government registry, licensing system, or professional credentialing process.

Sensitive information

Legal name, birth date, address, identification documents, and related screening records are not displayed publicly. Access is restricted for screening, compliance, support, fraud-prevention, safety, or legal purposes consistent with the Privacy Notice.

No guarantee

A completed screening can reduce uncertainty but cannot guarantee identity, competence, honesty, safety, future conduct, or suitability. Families should continue to interview, verify references and credentials, and make independent decisions.
